Alton James III is the founding Attorney of the Law Office of Alton James III, and has been fighting for the rights of Texans since 2015.
Alton has made it his purpose to help Texans in their times of need to understand their rights, and to fight for the justice and compensation they deserve due to the actions of another.
A trial lawyer for You
In Law School, Alton was a member of the Criminal Law Clinic, where he gained real courtroom experience representing Texans in need while still a law student. He was also a member of the mock trial team where he honed his litigation skills by competing in state and national competitions. Alton began his legal career as a criminal Assistant District Attorney and gained firsthand knowledge of the complexities and skills needed to try complex cases. He was eventually promoted to the ranks of a felony criminal Assistant District Attorney in the organized crime division of the Dallas County Criminal District Attorney’s office. Serving as an Assistant District Attorney was a natural progression from helping to protect people from crime, to helping to protect the injured from insurance companies and other corporate interests. Unlike many lawyers, Alton prides himself on being above all else, a trial lawyer who is not afraid of presenting his client’s cases before a Texas jury. Alton has tried over 45 cases as first chair to Texas Juries.
Through his years of experience preparing his cases for trial, Alton has earned the respect of his opposing counsel, which translates into highly favorable settlements for his clients.
A client centric approach
Alton takes a client centric approach to litigation that always puts his clients first. Throughout his career, Alton has represented his clients with one goal in mind; justice. Alton focuses his practice to represent injured Texans in matters that range from products liability, wrongful death, medical malpractice, premises liability, commercial trucking accidents and more. He understands that one of the most challenging times in a person’s life is when they’ve been injured due to the actions of another and knows how to hold the right people accountable for injuring his clients.
Humble roots
Alton comes from humble roots and always remembers to bring his small-town sensibilities and work ethic to his practice for the benefit of his clients. Alton is from Luling, Louisiana and is a proud Saints fan (geaux saints!). His mother is a nurse practitioner, and his father is an environmental expert with the NRCS. His grandparents on both sides of his family were some of the first members of his family to attend and graduate college and they passed that knowledge forward by becoming lifelong educators themselves. It’s no surprise that Alton was instilled with a strong work ethic from a young age.
A family focused law firm for you
Alton is honored and blessed to be married to his wife Susan, and a proud father of their young son, Alton IV. He is also a pet parent to their cat, Charlie, and their dog, Lila. When not practicing law or with his family, he enjoys watching westerns, anime (Cowboy Bebop, Naruto), Law & Order, Naked and Afraid, attempting (poorly attempting) home repairs, and playing a good video game. Alton’s family grounds him and gives him a constant reminder of the importance of legacy and helping others in need.
